Jack Ngarambe, Research Fellow

Jack Ngarambe is a research professor and lecturer at Kyung Hee University, South Korea. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering and a Ph.D. in architectural engineering with a specialty in building physics from Kyung Hee University, South Korea. Ngarambe’s research mainly focuses on sustainable built environments and how to leverage novel technologies to improve the performance of buildings and cities. Current projects include extensive urban sustainability projects funded by the National Research Fund (NRF) of Korea, Korea Energy Agency (KEA), Korea Energy Technology Evaluation & Planning (KETEP), Seoul city metropolitan government, and Gyeonggi-do provincial government. The projects are aimed at promoting the urban liveability agenda, particularly under increased urbanization, energy poverty, and the changing climate. Other projects include intelligent building projects in conjunction with Samsung electronics aimed at transforming Korean public buildings/cities into energy-efficient and net-zero carbon buildings /communities through the use of novel machine learning technologies.
